The well-known tourist beaches
Of course, no trip to Sydney is complete without visiting the coveted Bondi Beach. Definitely a place that you can spend a whole day, swimming, laying in the sun, or taking in the many shops and restaurants. Bondi is also where the first life saving club was established in 1906, the Bondi Surf Bathers Club.
Manly Beach- Manly is a beautiful beach to visit on the north side. To get the ultimate experience, take the ferry across Sydney Harbour from Circular Quay. The trip is short and there are lots of sights to see on the way.
The lovely Palm Beach is great if you feel like taking a bit of a drive. It’s a luxurious beach and home to some of Australia’s most wealthy people and celebrities.
Other great spots
Cronulla Beach is a great beach to visit if you feel like heading down south for a surf. After enjoying the waves, you can always take in the rest of the area and go shopping or dine at one of the many restaurants on the waterfront.
Maroubra Beach is well-known as being the hometown of some of Australia’s best surfers. It’s a great place to take on the waves, and offers some of Sydney’s best surf.
Thinking about taking your furry friend with you on holidays and still want to get some sun and sand action in there? Sirius Cove Reserve is located in Mosman, and is a great dog-friendly beach. Surrounded by bushland it has great facilities where you can cook a barbecue feast as you watch the kids play on the playground equipment. There is heaps of parking too and bathroom facilities.
A great way to experience some of Sydney’s best beaches is to take a trip starting at one beach and following the coastline along. For instance you can walk from Bondi to Coogee and finish at Maroubra beach.
